Zurück aus Ohlsdorf [English translation]
Zurück aus Ohlsdorf [English translation]
I was late and slipped into the unoccupied rows in the back
Not many people had come, just in the front somebody stood alone
And telled a bit stiff the story of a life
Of which I didn't know much, just that it was short
and the fight for it in vain
The woman in front of me said in her neighbor's ear
That he was a shadow of his former selve and lost more and more weight
That he always said bravely, I am not fet up yet
And that the thing in his head was said to have the size of a golf ball
We used to spend the night out together years ago
And then at some point no longer
He mother said later that he spoke of me often
And that she was glad I came. I honestly though
a lot about if I should really come here
At some point he stopped getting in touch
Because I wanted to get in touch
I remember him saying as we walked through the streets
that he wanted to go to Roskilde1
once
But alone it's not fun and makes no sense
We used to spend the night out together years ago
And then at some point no longer
He still looked great as he lay there peacefully
In his black suit in the bright casket.
Like he was about to say to me
Throw the flowers away and let's walk through the door
Let's spend the night out once again like before
