Lord, who is both life and death

The stars are your glittering tears

Lord, who through the wind rips the roofs from above our heads

Who has dominion over power of the sea waves

Lord, in whos hands rests fire of conflagration

So many times, so many times I've begged you

Let me yet rest on this earth

Before I see the bright light

Before I find myself in front of you, mute

My own deeds, placing on a scale

Allow me to taste the paradise here

I must see if it is tasty for me

This crumb of happiness, what words

And what gestures will convince you

Lord, who sees life as a winding road

Lord, who persuades our eyes with appearance

I try to read the world as a most sacred book

And it is for me an example of patiance

My life of toil I want to live through

Until my run down heart will stop
