#ЯЩЕТАЮ [#YASHCHETAYU] [English translation]

#ifink it’s all a hoax about Dimon’s mansions and sneakers1

#ifink it was Yanks who invented corrupters2

#ifink it’s all a photoshop3, and the National Guard protects all of us

I’ve been at the protest rally4 with Lenka5, sipped frothy cappuccino

Come on, what d’ya say, Dimon wears ordinary sneakers

Come on, after all, the law is the same for everyone

Come on, it’s all nuts, and no one is beaten6 by OMON7 anymore

Come on, everybody, come on!

Chorus:

I don’t give a damn8

Who’s the president of my state!

I only wish there’s no war9

There’s no war!

Wish I could survive till spring

In the space between the walls

And wish there will be no war

No war!

No f.cking war!

#ifink one has to be trained to use a gun even in pre-school10

#ifink patriotism is cool, but won’t join the Army11 on my own

#ifink the freedom of speech is to write something on Internet and delete it right away

The main thing is there’s a choice: Orthodox Church or death!

Come on, it’s all a lie, and you won’t die from a hawthorn bath lotion12,

Come on, LADA PRIORA13 is posher than PORSCHE

Come on, it’s all BS, your pension will be available to you before your funeral14,

Come on, everybody, come on!

(Chorus)

I count to hundred, there is beauty all around

I count to hundred, the sun heats the place for us

I count to hundred, what a dream of a life!

I count to hundred, I count to hundred, I think15

We don’t care, let’s elect criminal16,

(or) head chef with a huge ladle17,

(or) gym coach18, (or) blogger-theorist19,

A female, a black, or a queer,

(or) Edik20 from another apartment block,

(or) a racketeer for protection from raiding,

(or) Nastya Rybka21, (or) Lenka from the first stanza.

Yeah, even Tramp or Poroshenko22!

(Chorus)

1. - Dmitry Medvedev (“Dimon” is a vulgar/humorous diminutive form of the Russian name “Dmitry”), ex-President of Russia (2008-2012), ex-Prime Minister of Russia (2012-2020) and close friend of Vladimir Putin (who was President of Russia before Medvedev and re-elected as President in 2012).

In March 2017, Alexei Navalny (Russian opposition leader, politician and anti-corruption activist) and his Anti-corruption Foundation published an investigation of properties and residences (“mansions”) used by Medvedev and his family, called ”He Is Not Dimon To You” and released an hour long YouTube video of the subject.

The leaked information about Medvedev’s internet shopping (he ordered shirts and footwear) helped to identify his orders shipped to an address of a company controlled by Medvedev's college friend..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He_Is_Not_Dimon_to_You2. - Russian pro-government bloggers and mass media claims that Anti-corruption Foundation is sponsored and funded by the US State Dept. (still no evidence) and his investigations of Russian corrupted high-rank officials are fake.3. - When in 2019 Moscow municipal council (City Duma) elections took place, the Moscow City Election Commission (MCEC) refused to register most of independent opposition candidates. Numerous approved and unapproved rallies took place in Moscow, the independent sources give an estimation of 15-20 thousand participants for the largest event. The police acted harshly. Dozens of people suffered. Photos of the rally, where a large amount of protesters is depicted, was called “photoshop” by pro-government media. The protests were accompanied by massive administrative arrests.

In context of late Soviet/Russian life the expression obtained meaning “we are ready to accept rather low living standards, if our state will ensure its national sovereignty” and is a part of the “sieged fortress” agenda. Also it was humorously represented in Russian folklore https://lyricstranslate.com/ru/с-неба-звёздочка-упала-sky-star-has-falle...

Some persons, generally with health issues, are exempted from mandatory draft.
