Beatallica: Sgt. Hetfield's Motor Breath Pub Band
Beatallica mines an extremely narrow musical vein—Beatles covers done up as Metallica songs—but the Milwaukee-based spoof group mines the idea for everything it's worth on its full-length debut, Sgt. Hetfield's Motor Breath Pub Band. Coming after two well-received EPs given away for free online, Sgt. Hetfield's is made up songs like "Blackened In The U.S.S.R.," "A Garage Dayz Night" and "…And Justice For All My Loving" that sound like, well, Metallica covering The Beatles. It's a one-note joke that wears thin long before the band's infectious enthusiasm for both bands does. Fortunately, likeable enthusiasm proves just good enough and even Lars Ulrich likes these guys. And he doesn't let just anybody infringe on his copyright.
