In one of my rare moments of lucidity, I looked at myself in the mirror, and I realized that my thoughts needed a facelift.

At the time I attributed my defaillance to my early senile retrenchment. Then I looked around and... not not that I felt intelligent, but I consoled myself.

Here I did understand, that the less a man today expresses his thought, the better. At the most, we can express an opinion. But opinions - we know - are like nuts. Everyone has theirs.

And so, little by little, I came to the idea that the Western European world, ancient cradle of civilization, would really need a new thinker, fresh and full of vigor. No - for God's sake! - I do not intend to put myself in the picture. I am neither fresh nor full of vigor. And above all, I'm not a thinker. I just have the feeling that in our times, to think means to live, in a cemetery.

Oh yes, we should revive the philosophy, which has died poor thing. Certainly, a new philosophy that would be able to illuminate minds and warm the heart of the man of the new millenium.

Except that, philosophizing today, as small as we are, is like pissing in your pants on a cold winter day, to feel a bit of warmth.
