Mis gaviotas [English translation]
Mis gaviotas [English translation]
Playing yesterday naked on the sand
my childhood little by little I saw pass,
it has escaped me with me barely realising it,
dreaming about flying.
To leave playing with the wind,
a moment to fall on the water.
I was raised dreaming, close to the sea,
close to the rocks,
one day I learnt to fly,
I learnt to fly
like my seagulls.
And I left far from there
that day,
without looking back I believed
that never would I return.
I found a thistle, a flower,
a dream, a love, a sadness,
I left alone and later we left as two,
a kiss, a goodbye and it all begins.
Another song, another illusion, other things,
and already fed up of
today I returned to search for
my seagulls.
And I didn't see them, they also left
from that nook that at one time unified us,
I remained alone, digging in the ground,
searching for my childhood.
They must never return,
they left it behind,
under the sand, close to the sea,
next to some rocks
that cannot fly,
that cannot fly
like my seagulls.
And I leave more sad today
than that day,
without looking back
I believed that never would I return.
