Are painting with red over grayness.

Though colors are fine,

It’s not how I want to be seen.

If I only knew how, I’d put you into a painting

With green over trees

And gold over aquamarine.

The place we are living within

Is sufficiently lighted,

But with every sunset my heart sings from under a screen

If I were a carpenter, then

I would build you a ship

So we could sail to the trees

And to gold over aquamarine.

If I only could love,

Requesting no reciprocation,

If I weren’t afraid

And sang of the places I’ve been,

If I only had sight,

I’d see us just as we are,
