Troum Unde Spiegelglas [English translation]
Troum Unde Spiegelglas [English translation]
A wise man said,
that dream and mirror glass,
because of their continuance,
are to be counted as winds.
foliage and grass,
that have always been my joy,
now, that I'm going to the end,
I think I am like they are,
and many flowers,
the red heathland, the green forest,
the birds' songs, all have a sad ending,
also the lime-tree,
good flavours and lenity.
Alas, world, that headdress suits you fine!
Holy Christ,
for you have the power
over the worldly community
of those, who are tought of you,
give me discretion
to involve you and all
your chosen children
into my thoughts.
I was blinded with viewing eyes
and towards all good like a child,
even thought I didn't show my
malpractice to the world.
Purify me,
before my impure
soul sinks down to the dale of the lost ones.
