Kein Königreich [English translation]
Kein Königreich [English translation]
[Chorus:]
That's not to make a Kingdom rise
That's how to make it torn
And wherefore an Eye does not suffice
A prayer won't be lorn
I have no time to spare
To understand your stalling view
But I am willing to bear
The pain and just walk on through
[Chorus]
As soon as I have certitude
I will say all that I know
Do not let my wish be refused
For it is getting hotter round us now
[Chorus]
The talking points of our days
Are not the crucial points for this generation
We have a big scar on our face
And we are looking for our absolution
[Chorus]
All of a sudden there is so much to say
Yet nothing ever comes of it
Surrounded by the Marks of Cain1
For us to remove them causes too great a fit
[Chorus]
1. The mark that Cain, Adam and Eva's firstborn son, received on his forhead after killing his younger brother Abel had a twofold protective purpose: It labeled him as a murderer, thus protecting the rest of society from him, and was made to go on to the one who would try to kill Cain, therefore preventing more bloodshed. So someone who carries the mark of Cain is someone who is openly associated with or accused of a stark crime and is therefore excluded by others.
