The last train will leave for sky at midnight

From a small station covered with snowy hat

A railway-man will come back to his cell

And he’ll lie down on the bed in his boots

He’ll glance at somebody’s faded photo

He’ll pour down and will have a snack of salty tear,

He’ll open the window, he’ll take his old gun,

And will shoot down a star after another

But the train is moving farther to the sky

On the moony way he’ll go far

But the train will take from here to the sky

All those whom it’s possible to help somehow

The railway-man out of his smashed pockets

Of the worn uniform will take to the light

A much worn three rouble note, an iron spoon

And a ticket of the departed train

And when in east the sun will rise

And will disperse the night sadness with its rays

He’ll take out his old gun with big shot

And will put the iron to the sick whisky

But the train is moving farther to the sky

On the moony way he’ll go far
