He left his town at twenty years old

with two cents in his pocket and nothing else,

he had a woman whom he had been loving for years,

he even left her for something more.

He promised himself he'd never return

to the old town of his youth

where nobody wanted to dream,

fields to plough and nothing else.

So he started to be a wanderer,

going around towns and cities,

searching for fortune in places in the world,

forgetting about his poverty.

One day, in a great poet's house,

he found some boys that spoke of peace.

All of a sudden he understood that that was the destination

that he had reached to be happy.

So he went back to being a wanderer,

Without a penny in his pocket he started back towards his home,

he understood what it is that's more important.

At his front door there she stood waiting for him,

everything like before, he couldn't ask for more.
