Three sisters, three gentle creatures

Once came together on the way, on a distant journey -

To find amongst the vast boundless spanses

The spring that rescues you from thirst.

Upon the threshold each said farewell, and parted

And went to far off, distant lands.

The first, named Love, the second - (a) Dream,*

And the last, she was called Hope.

And Love conquered the great spanses

Everyone wished to change their desires,

But could not bear its rigors

And they failed to save her.

And so there are only two sisters left, -

Wandering along the way, as they did before.

And when Love perishes time and again

All that remains is (a) Dream and Hope.

So (a) Dream, maintained her flight,

She strove on, toward that ultimate goal.

And, having come, it has led to something,

But a Dream has already ceased to be.

And so the last Hope remained

Wandering along the way, as before.

Time and again they let (a) Dream and Love perish

Let Hope not then leave me.

And now the possibilities are over,

Everyone pledged wonderful years.

Why are we then so alone?

Why does it echo all over the world so?

Only in the most remote peaks

Do I ask once more, as before:

To live and breathe, to Love and Dream

Let Hope not then leave me.
