Latający Holender [English translation]
Latający Holender [English translation]
The wind captures the tango of sounds
And songs sail into the distance
Necklaces of lamps shudder on shrouds
Shudderings on the fairway of foam
On motorways the captain's ball
is underway, dawn is still far away
But when the sparks of lamps will extinguish
There where the Zodiak's brightness shudders
The lonely wreck drifts into the south-west
And on the deck: three girls, three black cats and three dogs
And there are no more traces of the crew left
The sailors have drowned, tears fall onto the manes of waves
That the wind kidnaps from under the dark girls
Like a black bird pierces the silence
Helpless sails hang from the yards
Darkness slithers like a snake in open loopholes
It's the Flying Dutchman
Cutting through low-lying mists in order
Its shattered masts are wrapped up in darkness
When the wing of the rudder pokes at the current
The yard wavers squeaking
The log bubbles in the forgotten water
And on-board are three girls entangled in the bruised veil of mist
Their nightly ocean cries are muffled by the sound of wind
Three cats and three dogs walk down with them into the empty cabins
There rum in old barrels waits for longing
Oh, how one can drink in different ways
Alcohol stings like a viper
A tin cup with rum when it touches the lips
And with a breath of spring it will blow away
When the crystal with wine is laughing
On the glistening wave, when the ship begins its tour
So we also drink loyally
Let's wait in our tavern
When the flying Dutchman will hit shore
And on board three girls drag behind them lament*
Despite the fact the black cats and three dogs sleep soundly
Only to the three drunk girls does sleep still not come
When the night opens up its umbrella of stars on the masts.
