F comme femme [English translation]
F comme femme [English translation]
She blossoms by the morning
In the dull garden within my heart
Her eyes like destiny
Did she look like happiness?
Or did she look like my soul?
I picked her up, she was woman
Woman, with a pink W for wisteria
She altered my world
My life entirely delighted
As poetry sung in the air
I had a dollhouse
And in my heart a searing flame
It was all charming, it was all woman
Woman, with a magical W for winsome
She chained me hundred times a day
At the sweet poles of her tenderness
My chains were plaited of love
I was martyr to her caresses
I was joyous, or was I vile?
But I loved her, she was woman
Then came a bird, shy and frail
It told me about liberty
She snatched its wings
And it died with the summer
On this day came tragedy
And yet she was woman
Woman, with a grey W for woeful
When came the moment of truth
There was a woman and a boy
The boy I was, the boy I am
Against life and against time
I huddled within my soul
And I understood, she was woman
But woman, with a winged W, for walk away
