El vals del circo [English translation]
El vals del circo [English translation]
In the circuses, stories are woven
in front of and behind the thick curtain,
and a love that was not in the memory
of the beautiful wife
of the illusionist.
And two clowns
who at each sunrise they
drunkenly sing facing the sun
hugging empty bottles,
perhaps
with a serious drinking problem.
A Chinese acrobat
and coquettish
young girls of tender blush,
dancers that time will make ruins
dreaming of marrying
a prosperous doctor.
A skinny tiger that will inspire in the end
a certain tenderness and no fear
of submissively eating from the gentle
hand of his tamer's lover.
Cheerfully pretending
that there are no sunsets,
smiling under the same light,
we will all be just like clowns
under the tent of the blue sky.
All the circuses in the world must
confront a final destiny
and donate their tired elephant
to the population of some
local zoo.
They sell their tent
and clear out without knowing
the last and saddest role
as they leave defeated
never to return,
on the way to inevitable extinction.
Cheerfully pretending
that there are no sunsets,
smiling under the same light,
we will all be just like clowns
under the tent of the blue sky.
