Dansa [English translation]
Dansa [English translation]
This is no heroic tale, not legendary
Not criminal but not something legal either
No comedy but not entirely tragic
No walk in the park or a safari.
I’m both striving after this and don’t even want to take it.
The sickest journey I’ve had to take part in.
Between angels and demons but it damn sure isn’t Hollywood.
In reality time flutters faster than a hummingbird
In the mass-produced hunt for “life quality”
And wild animals on a leash that the gauntlet holds on to
The flock is collective, no solo sailor
Can survive the regulations, the steps number more than that.
I take the snake by the tail and make it into a dance but
No-one wears a crown without the thorns in the rim.
If s*** is ice cream and a happiness is sprinkles
Have the spark in my hand and the tricks in my voice
And aim with my thoughts with my revolver at my hip
And my look is blank but have the pressure in my chest
whispered to consciousness like lamps in the dark.
Lots of water has run but not quenched my thirst yet
Have probably heard it before but not listened until now
Because my thoughts are like motorways - endless.
It goes in through the same ear it comes out.
My satellites orbit around complicated decisions.
Can’t stop looking to live without knowing there
Is no pause button on life’s video player
So I dance on like someone’s shooting at my feet
I have one waltz in me so I step like hell.
The thing about love seems to be rather hocus pocus
What once shot out is now a broken crocus
Like a broken dream disappears with deep discomfort.
And leaves me standing searching with messed up focus
A last greeting like white lilies for free will
Just want to widen my views like new glasses
So take your skates and run like there’s a fire,
Tap yourself on the breastplate, hope you win
Several sugar cubes stop the drink being bitter
Or throw your heart on your back like jewellery
Or turn your cheek and whip the wind
When loneliness sweeps over you like the Russian winter.
For those who want roses tolerate thorny stems.
That there is life and death, we can hardly help
So maybe there’s someone who numbs the spiciness
So round and round we go and dance, dance.
