Danny DeVito Says He and Arnold Schwarzenegger Missed Out on Making ‘Twins’ Sequel: ‘He Should Have Done ‘Twins 2′ Instead of Becoming Governor’1

In a recent interview with GQ, Danny DeVito discussed the possibility of reuniting with his Twins co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger on a project.

DeVito shared that he and Schwarzenegger want to work together again, but this new project would be separate from Twins, the 1988 comedy where the two portrayed fraternal twin brothers separated at birth.

We missed Twins 2, because he became governor which, he should have done Twins 2 instead of becoming governor, DeVito quipped. Now we have a little thing going, a little project that weve been chatting about.

Schwarzenegger served as the 38th governor of Calif. from 2003 to 2011. When asked if Twins was related to this new project, DeVito replied, No, its just two friends, two guys, because we have a good time together. We complement each other in a lot of ways. I am way stronger than he is.

DeVito later shared that he and Billy Crystal are planning on making a Throw Momma From the Train sequel, tentatively called Throw Papa From the Train. The 1987 crime comedy marked DeVitos theatrical directorial debut.

DeVito also discussed Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the potential of the show continuing: I love doing Sunny. Weve done 16 years. Were probably going to do more.

When asked about the SAG-AFTRA strike, DeVito responded, Im just hoping that our actor strike is over because there are a lot of projects that were just kind of at a standstill. As soon as they dot those is and crossed those ts or however you spell contract I was going to do Matilda Live.'

DeVito is currently starring in the Broadway production of I Need That alongside his daughter, Lucy DeVito.
