2023 Emmy Predictions:

Outstanding Comedy Series

Emmys: Comedy Series – Broadcast and Cable Fight for Recognition With ‘Abbott Elementary’ and ‘The Bear’2

Weekly Commentary: Apple TV+s Ted Lasso is the reigning champion after two consecutive wins at the Emmys, but ABCs Abbott Elementary and FXs The Bear is going to give it a run for their money this time around.

Alongside Lasso and Abbott are other returning shows celebrating their final seasons Prime Videos The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and HBOs Barry. In addition, other returning nominees in the mix are Hulus Only Murders in the Building and FXs What We Do in the Shadows.

Abbott would be the first broadcast show since Modern Family to win at the Emmys, and it would be a nice boost of encouragement with the writers strike and impending SAG negotiations underway.

The Bear isnt the only freshman series in the mix. Apples Shrinking and Netflixs Wednesday are the leading candidates to join the shortlist, with others like Peacocks Poker Face and Freevees Jury Duty on the bubble hoping to find some love.
