Ти не си за мен [Ti ne si za men] [English translation]

(You say) I'm pretty 1

But I caught you with another woman

Is she prettier?

Does she kiss better?

I can't share you

I wasn't one of the kids

Who believed lies

And gave away their things

Throw him out of here, out in the trash

Caring about him? I don't care

He's knocking on my door, let him knock

Nobody will answer 2

Throw him out of here, out in the trash

Caring about him? I don't care

He's knocking on my door, let him knock

Nobody will answer

You're not right for me 3

You're part of my past

Everything between us is cold

You're not right for me

We weren't meant to be

And I keep saying to myself that it's for the best

Why are you looking at me this way?

Should we switch places?

Soon my horns 4

Will be on your head

I can't share you

I'm not from the kind of women

Who believe lies

And close their eyes 5

Even if it leaves an open wound 6

I can't forgive what you did

Life goes on without you

I've had enough, I'm sick of it, I've changed

Even if it leaves an open wound

I can't forgive what you did

Life goes on without you

Forget about me forever

1. This line is in the Inferential/renarrative mood. This mood is used when a person talks about an event that they did not witness, hence they are not sure it's really true. This mood is really common in Bulgarian but since it doesn't exist in English, translating such lines is quite hard. That's why I added 'You say' at the beginning even though it's not actually in the lyrics. It's expressed with the mood of the verbs. Translating the line "I'm pretty" would be wrong because it would mean that she thinks she is pretty while the Bulgarian line means that he says/has said to her that she's pretty but she doubts his words because he cheated on her.2. or 'open'3. Literal translation: You're not for me4. In Bulgarian (and many other languages) 'horns' or 'to put horn on somebody' is a metaphor for cheating on them5. Metaphorically. Meaning, 'to ignore the truth'6. Not a literal translation. The literal translation would be 'Even if I become a living wound''
