Ships that are loaded with precious freight

In realm of Poseidon and in his might

Smoldering longing for motherland

For homely fields on solid ground

Wakes living dreams that cloud and blind

Squander and pleasure your mind

When mists are spreading over the seas

On nearby shore a power stirs

Taking on lovely female shape

To ensnare you, to enchant you

Then all of sudden and island from sea

Arises - its magic is pulling us near

Until we glimpse on nearby strand

Beautiful women clad all in white

Then to our ears reached their song

Senses and hearts were lost before long

At sound of those creatures that beseech and beguile

Enfold and call out to your mind
