Morgenland [English translation]
Morgenland [English translation]
The sun rises in the east,
It's no summer for Ayanna.
Her wall of sorrow rises in the Orient.
For her hand builds a stranger castles in the sand.
Promised to the best friend of her father,
a Persian perversity,
forced into marriage by the parents' association.
She cries fearfully into the veil
and plays along
The sun of the Orient seems to darken her.
She dreams of being in the the west, again and again.
Ayanna, full of anguish and rage,
turns her back on the desert,
sends the Persian in to the blazing desert.
She leaves her mirages behind,
Flys and flies with the Persian carpet from the Far East.
She starts a new life.
Her old me disappears like a genie in a bottle,
Her traveling bag is packed with three wishes.
Where the sun sets,
for her it rises.
The sun of the Orient seems to darken her.
She dreams of being in the the west, again and again.
The black sun burns down on her
She breaks free, she wants out!
The sun of the Orient seems to darken her.
She dreams of going someplace else, again and again.
