Dagda's Magic Harp lyrics

Once there was a magic harp

They say in days of olde

And fair king dagda played upon

Enchanted strings of gold

And dagda was the only one

Who'd ever make it sing

For only he could draw a note

From those enchanted strings

And into battle he would go

And on his harp awoke

He'd strike a mighty battlecry

Of victory and hope

And through the sound would courage fill

The heart of every Knight

And the ????? found

Their metal for the fight

(INTERLUDE)

Now once in heat of battle fierce

The dark fomorian stole (1)

From the home wherein it hung

That harp with strings of gold

They took it and they hid it

In a castle far away

But dagda and two loyal knights

They tracked them on their way

The fomorians thinking they were safe

Were in their banquet hall

When dagda and his knights burst in

And to his harp he called

(INTERLUDE)

Hearing fair King Dagda's voice

The harp it came alive

And bolting through the air it flew

To brave king dagda's side

And which such power did it spin

When through the air it tore

It left nine dark fomorian knights

All dead upon the floor

The rest rose up to take it back

This wondrous magic thing

But were too late for dagda played

Upon its magic strings

Three chords he struck

Three songs he sang

First the song of tears

The formorians started weeping

At the music they did hear

(INTERLUDE)

Next the song of laughter

And of joy king dagda played

The fomorians started dancing

In a wild dissaray

(INTERLUDE)

Next the song of sleep he played

To the land of dreams did send

The whole fomorian army

And so the story ends

(INTERLUDE)
