Saussat [English translation]
Saussat [English translation]
All the pebbles
From the top of the Perdiguère1
Heading down to Portillon2
I hear their song
And me, coming from the mountains
I don't have any companions
My heart's all nestled
When I look at the Saussat3
It's the Literole's 4fault
If I missed school
The sun is beating down
On top of my poor head
They've found me too dumb
But here, there's no master
In the shadows of the Quayrat5
When I look at the Saussat
It's no longer the Earth
And it's not the sky yet
And up above those glaciers
As far as my eyes can go
There are no chains
No bars, no barriers
And far from those barbed wires
When I look at the Saussat
The springtime that comes from Spain
Makes the mountains weep
The herd's all mounted
It's going to be sunny tomorrow
The moon has arrived
On the mirror of the water
The night is at peace
When I look at the Saussat
The night is at peace
When I look at the Saussat
The night is at peace
When I look at the Saussat
