Poco prima di dormire [English translation]
Poco prima di dormire [English translation]
Just before falling asleep I thought about everything that happened
my story, my hopes, my path, my waivers
to my father's words until I left
his presence is everywhere and it follows me during my life
and my legs are shaking just before I start,
it still happens, always, that every step I take confuses me
the light switch on suddenly with people clapping
because to feel alive I always need to sink and then rise again
I'm always the same, don't you see me, I'm trying to get there
while you chase me, my songs,
just few make-ups in my purse, I was born ready
my life is running.
This face at night, in my dressing room's mirror, keeps convincing itself
that meaning of this is getting closer, always much closer.
Just before falling asleep, I've seen photos, newspaper clippings
where they say I'm not worth it, but in the end this is part of the game,
destiny gives us all or take it away from us at its pleasure and I'm not
able to stand still, but I've also learn how to fall, I learned how to fall.
I'm always the same, don't you believe it, I'm trying to get there
while you chase me, and with my hands I can shakes all hands before me, and with these same hands I can send away regrets.
My face, some evening, in the dressing room's mirror, it's able to convince itself that meaning of this it getting closer, always much closer.
Just before falling asleep, I lower down the noise of my most difficult toughts, I get under my blankets and I wait for you on a stage, on a stage with my arms wide open.
