Maravillosos e piadosos [English translation]

Marvelous, pious, and very

wonderful miracles she performs.

Saint Mary1, the one Who guides us

by day and night and brings us peace.

Concerning this, I would like to tell you of a wonderful

and extraordinary miracle which this Virgin,

Mother of God, performed in Flanders

for a woman who once went to

the church of Hers which has been given

to us, that we might behold Her face

in Paradise, where God wishes to

grant those who please Him joy and mirth.

That woman took with her

a very small boy, her child,

and gave him to the Virgin in an offering

in order to protect him from evil and sickness

and ensure that he would say

and always know well what is right.

As I learned, he left eating his bread2.

This boy ran fast, paused and stood in line

Near the Son3of that image4,

and then said: “Do you want a piece?”

Then the figure4of the very wise Virgin

said to Her Son3: "Tell him without hesitation

not to be afraid, but ask him to dine with You

where there is singing and pleasure,

and be rid of the very cursed

devil that is evil in the writings."

When She said that, the image4of the Christ

replied to the boy: “You will eat

with Me tomorrow in Heaven, and after you have

seen Me, you will dwell with Me forevermore

where you will hear the saints sing,

which drives away sadness and evil.”

After that, he died

young, and went straight to live with God.
